Camille Arsenault, 33, is a doctoral candidate you have seen for five months for panic attacks and health anxiety. The work has gone well. The consent discussion at the outset covered video sessions and recorded that between sessions you can be reached 'by phone or text for scheduling.' Over the past six weeks Camille has texted more: first about appointment times, then short updates, then, twice, long messages about her symptoms sent after midnight. You have replied to some and not to others. Today she joins nine minutes late from her car. The engine is running and a shopping-centre sign is visible through the window behind her. 'Sorry, it's the only place I can get away from my roommate.' Twenty minutes in, she mentions in passing that she moved for her postdoctoral fellowship six weeks ago and has been calling you from Halifax ever since.
