Working relationship

Weights and reasoning are revealed as you select, so you learn while you work. For the exam experience with nothing revealed, sit a mock exam instead.

You are a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying) in a six-clinician group private practice in Kitchener. You practise under weekly clinical supervision. The practice's booking system sends new clients an intake package to complete in a client portal before the first session: a history form, a policy sheet and a consent-to-treatment form. Amrit Sandhu, 41, booked himself eight months after his father died. He works rotating shifts at a distribution centre and has extended health benefits through his union. He arrives twelve minutes late, apologises twice, and says the parking was bad. The portal shows his consent form was opened and submitted in under forty seconds. When you begin to say that you would like to go through how you work before anything else, Amrit takes the printed copy out of your hand, signs the bottom of the last page, slides it back across the table and says: 'It's fine, I signed it online too. Honestly, I don't want to spend the hour on paperwork. I've been waiting five weeks for this appointment. Can we just start?'
